About PTRA

Phoenix-Talent Rising Academy (PTRA) is a Kindergarten-8th grade school that combines online, in-person, and home learning. Our program helps students build strong academic skills while giving them the flexibility to learn in ways that work best for them. And we have optional in-person activities to help kids grow socially.

PTRA is a great choice for families exploring homeschooling or charter schools. We offer the high-quality, challenging education you'd expect from your local school, with the flexibility and parental control of at-home learning. We provide the Chromebooks and curriculum that our students need. Families stay connected to their local community and receive support for academics, social-emotional needs, and technology from our friendly staff. And PTRA students have full access to our district's programs and services, including sports, clubs, health services, and more.

PTRA is an excellent option for families whose students experience social anxiety, have trouble focusing in a busy classroom, or find it hard to sit still. Learning at home means fewer distractions and lets students set their own schedule, spending more time on lessons they need help with and moving quickly through subjects they already know. And our smaller class sizes mean students get personal attention and help from their teachers when they need it.

While PTRA is mainly an online school, we do have weekly in-person classes and activities. They include Open Classroom for middle school students wanting some extra help, and STEAM Class art and science projects for all our students. We also offer interactive science workshops, field trips for the whole family, and unique electives through Talent Maker City, providing opportunities not available in traditional schools.
